Polished Concrete

Polished Concrete

A Refined Finish. A Hardworking Floor.

Polished concrete is a mechanical process — not a coating. The existing slab is ground with progressively finer diamond tooling until the desired level of refinement is reached. A chemical densifier is applied during the process to harden the surface, reduce dusting, and improve abrasion resistance. The final appearance depends on the condition of the existing slab, the aggregate exposure level selected, and the sheen level specified. Polished concrete can perform well under regular forklift traffic when the slab is properly prepared and maintained. Performance is affected by slab condition, wheel type, turning patterns, and joint condition. Polishing does not increase the slab's structural load capacity. Visible cracks, repairs, and color variation are normal characteristics of polished concrete — they reflect the history of the slab. Repairs can be made prior to polishing, but repaired areas will typically remain visible. Polished concrete is not maintenance-free, scratch-proof, or stain-proof. It requires routine cleaning with suitable equipment, pads, and pH-neutral cleaners to maintain its appearance and performance.
